Where to Eat... |
|
Breakfast |
I always go to Briarpatch for breakfast when I'm in Winter Park. Here you'll find all the usual diner-esque staples as well as a great deal of creative offerings, like pear as a fruit topping and brie as a cheese topping. Also, it's pet-friendly and right downtown, which makes for excellent people-watching. It's located at 252 North Park Avenue. |
Lunch |
I'll have to admit that once I heard the name Ravenous Pig, I just had to try their lunch, and I didn't even care what they were serving, although I assumed it would be pork. Turns out I was wrong about that! It's actually a "gastro-pub" with a menu that changes daily. Menu selections may include lobster tacos, a lamb French dip (yeah, LAMB!) or an oyster & shrimp po' boy with green apple and parsnip slaw. Don't worry, it sounds expensive but it's not bad compared to other restaurants in the area. It's located at 1234 North Orange Avenue. |
Dinner |
Try Cafe de France. It will totally remind you of dining in Europe. (In fact there are always a bunch of Europeans eating there while we've been there) I've heard the owners are actually French, and you can tell when you taste the food. All your French favorites will be perfectly prepared, from escargots to roasted rack of lamb. Cafe de France is located 526 Park Avenue South. |
What to Do... |
|
Morning |
Get up and see the Sunrise at one of Winter Parks amazing parks. Some of my favorites are Dinky Dock (you can go fishing) and Central Park, which is HUGE and right downtown. |
Afternoon |
Go to one of the many museums located in Winter Park. The Cornell Fine Arts Center and the Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art are great places to start. |
Evening |
Take a walk downtown. There's always something going, yet it's very family friendly. |
Late Night |
Winter Park is pretty quiet late night. You may want to check out Orlando or one of the surrounding cities if you're looking for the club scene. |
